My name is Jan Hirst, TOGHAR is my breeding prefix registered with the GCCF.

I started breeding in 1979 when I bought a lovely Blue point Siamese girl called Kirsta Mallisa from Phyllis Currie, she was my mentor into the world of showing and breeding these lovely cats.

After several years of breeding some lovely kittens, my cats were all retired to spend the rest of the years as layabouts as my family took priority. However in 2000 we lost one of our special boys, leaving our home with only one old Siamese boy, so we decided to purchase a new Siamese chocolate boy and from there we met the oriental’s and were smitten and the story goes on.

I now have some lovely cats as my web pages show. Toghar is the home of the first Imperial Oriental Black and Havana Grand Champions in the country.

I only breed from my girls once a year to maintain good health and this is passed onto the kittens. All my kittens are reared underfoot in the home, so are well socialised, whether they are for pets, showing or breeding.

I specialise in Havana’s, Black, Blues and Cinnamon Orientals, Siamese Tabby & Chocolate points, although I do occasionally have other colours available.

Available kittens can be seen on the kittens page, all kittens leave home with their own goodie bag, inoculated, registered with the GCCF and with 4 weeks free insurance on the condition that their new home is a permanent one, with lots of love and attention. They are all my babies reared with lots of TLC.

These can be ordered for collection or by mail order.  I try my best to provide the colours and styles requested. You will see many of my drapes at the Supreme cat show.
